Clean Supply Water

A clean supply of water is an increasingly difficult resource to find. Pollution and over use are reducing the small amounts of potable water, making it harder to find water for our basic living, much less for manufacturing and agriculture. Water filter and purifiers may be part of the solution, but water conservation is a critical step in preserving what clean supply of water we have on this planet.

Most people in the United States and Canada take for granted that they have a clean supply of water. You may be surprised to learn that your water may not be as clean as you think when you turn on your faucet to get a drink. Our water is cleaner than many other parts of the world, however, and for that, we are thankful. What do we need to know about the clean supply of water in our country and around the world?

You first need to realize that you may not have a very clean supply of water in your home. Depending upon the area in which you live, your water supply may be polluted enough to cause you health issues and it can be causing damage to the environment. By researching information about the clean supply of water in your area, you can determine what pollutants you need to be concerned about and what you need to do to keep your family safe. Some of the more common pollutants that affect your clean water supply include lead, bacteria, and chemicals, including pesticides. All of these items can cause you and your family to experience health problems.

These items can be removed from your water by simply installing a water filter to the faucet that your drinking water comes out of. When choosing your water filtering system, make sure that it is able to remove the pollutants from your water that you are concerned with. A whole house water filter may sound like just the thing to ensure that you have a clean supply of water, but it will not be able to remove the lead that may be in the pipes inside an older home. This would mean that you would also need to add a filtering system to the faucet or via a water pitcher, etc to ensure that you are not drinking lead polluted water. That is why it is essential that you do your research so that you can find the right water filtering system for you, your family, and your home.

In other parts of the world, they have to worry about even more pollution. Many of these countries do not have water treatment plants, so they are dependent upon water sources like rivers, lakes, or streams and if these sources are polluted, then the people ingest this pollution and become very ill or even die. Worldwide, dehydration kills more people worldwide than cancer or AIDS every single day. To even underscore this problem further, you need to know that at least a billion people cannot find the two liters of clean drinking water that they need everyday. This is a huge problem that you need to learn more about so that you will support the efforts to aid these less fortunate countries.

A clean supply of water should not be taken for granted. Everyday water sources are becoming more and more polluted. That is why it is so important for you to read articles about water pollution and to learn more about how you can make a difference. After all, we want to leave our children a clean supply of water, don’t we?
